As interpreters, we can find ourselves interpreting in content areas where we lack familiarity and expertise. Also, because of the nature of our career, interpreters often end up with retirement funds in several places. In this workshop, participants will learn about different financial terms, retirement vehicles, and pension systems, in order to better interpret financial-related content. While developing this knowledge, participants will also learn the basics of intentional planning for a successful retirement for themselves.
In this workshop, participants will learn how to...
💲 Compare the 3 major components of retirement planning
💲 Describe at least 10 basic financial and retirement-related vocabulary concepts in English and ASL
💲 Recognize and distinguish features of IRAs, 401(k) plans, and pensions
💲 Formulate ASL interpretations of these retirement-related concepts
💲 Develop resources for future learning and planning
